All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the terms of the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Cheadle, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Identification and proof of current address must be presented, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or at our Cheadle office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed safely through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, acknowledging that normal wear and tear is acceptable. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel as at the start of your rental; refueling fees will apply if the vehicle is returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur additional charges, so please notify us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle later than agreed. Additionally, you are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help minimize your financial liability. Review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless further insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, irrespective of any insurance coverage.
Cancellations and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of the vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other risky behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is also prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, and it is important to adhere to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside designated geographical areas without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cheadle will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental amount you paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
