Rental Terms
Every car hire is governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Cheadle, you must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25. You need to possess a valid, full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address are required, along with payment information and a security deposit. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for any additional requirements.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Cheadle branch. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All charges are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is your responsibility to examine the vehicle thoroughly and notify us of any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified will be evaluated and charged accordingly. It is also necessary to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as received; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may incur extra fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if a delay is anticipated. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Specific coverage details and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial responsibility. It is important to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless further insured. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may lead to applicable charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle may not be used for any unlawful activities. Activities such as racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is also not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, using the vehicle for purposes it was not designed for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside designated geographical boundaries without prior approval are all violations of our terms.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Cheadle Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cheadle is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the total amount you paid for the rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
Terms Update
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
